Base Support System

A note about the base (pictured directly below). That
H-shaped structure glued/screwed into the base is a support
mechanism. Since all of the sides rest on the base itself, they cause pressure to be pressed down on
the edges of the base, making the center of the base to want to
push straight up. These extra wood braces prevent upward
center pressure, and keep it from wanting to split in half (this
design is certainly overkill, but that means it won't fail in the
long-run!). If I didn't stick it elevated on wheels this
wouldn't have been necessary. In the
other pictures, you can see some wooden panels sticking out at
their base. These are screwed and glued into place.
Just gluing them into place wouldn't have worked since the
pressure would have been transferred entirely to the thin, weak
enamel rather than the strong wood inside the enamel. These
are the panels that rest on the base.
